OGHA TO HOLD STAKEHOLDERS’ FORUM ON WASTE MANAGEMENT AUTHORITY BILL TODAY

Committed to using legislative instrument towards achieving a well-coordinated approach for waste management collection and disposal structure, in line with the global best practices, the Ogun State House of Assembly will on Tuesday, July 7, 2020, hold a Stakeholders’ forum on “H.B. No. 048/OG/2020- the Ogun State Waste Management Authority Law, 2020.

According to a release signed by the Clerk of the House and Head of Legislative Services, Mr. ‘Deji Adeyemo, the public hearing is part of the Assembly’s culture of ensuring that inputs from experts on environmental issues and allied sector(s) were harnessed, in achieving an all-encompassing legislation. 

The bill with the title “A Bill for a law to provide for the Establishment of the Ogun State Waste Management Authority and other Matters connected therewith”, when operational, would further assist in reducing environmental hazards and aid job creation.

The release indicated that the venue of the forum is the Assembly Complex, Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, at 2:00 pm prompt, stating that only two representatives each from the invited organisations were expected to attend, in consonance with COVID-19 protocol.
