In continuation of rehabilitation of roads across the State, to enhance Infrastructural Development, Ogun State Government has commenced work on roads in Ijebu-Ode, as well as clearing of blocked drainages, to ease free-flow of traffic and avert flooding in the area.
Speaking while inspecting the roads, which include, Awujale, Idobi, Oke-Aje Market linking Idomila roads, Ijebu-Ode Local Government Transition Chairman, Engr. Olugbenga Olugbile, commended Governor Dapo Abiodun for his leadership qualities, as well as the laudable projects embarked on by his administration, saying the ongoing rehabilitation would boost socio-economic activities, especially at Oke-Aje Market and ease free flow of traffic during Market Days.
“The on-going rehabilitation of these roads and the clearing of drainages were part of infrastructural development in the State. This drainage has been constructed since 1981, and it has been blocked for a long time but the present administration has come to the rescue of the people in this area. This is not limited here, go to Ashafa Eleruku, Degun to see good roads and well-constructed drainages”, Olugbile stated.
One of the residents on Awujale Road, Mr. Adekoya Adewale thanked Governor Abiodun for the timely intervention of rehabilitation of roads across Ijebu-Ode and the clearing of blocked drainages, saying this would reduce flooding at this raining Season.
