In a bid to improve the life and ease the movement of people, goods and services of citizens of Ogun State, the State’s Public Works Agency has commenced construction of Ota-Ikola-Navy, Osi-Ota Road, Ray Power Road in Ado-odo-Ota Local Government Area and Ikoritameje-Olose-Tuntun-Vespa Road in Ifo Local Government.
According to the Consultant to the Governor, Engineer Ade Adesanya, who led a team of Engineers on road projects inspection to Ogun Central and Ogun West Senatorial Districts of the State, the constructions were in fulfilment of government’s promise to strategically link Ogun to Lagos State, which is the commercial capital of Nigeria.
He hinted that the roads would have modern features like street lights, walkways and standard drains, adding that the roads would be delivered in a couple of months, barring any unforeseen circumstances.
In his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Works and Infrastructure, Engineer Kayode Ademolake, said the length of the road in Olose-Tuntun is over three kilometres, while that of Raypower and Ikola Navy road is two kilometers, saying all the water runoff would be properly taken care of, to avoid flood disaster.
Engr. Ademolake added that work had commenced on the damaged portion of Adigbe-Opako Road, assuring that appreciable progress would be recorded on all roads under construction.
The residents appreciated government for the project which they believed, would go a long way in alleviating the hardship they had been experiencing for some time.
