OGSG SYMPATHIZES WITH CHIEF OKUBOYEJO ON DAUGHTER’S DEMISE

Ogun State Government has commiserated with the Chairman, Governor’s Elders Advisory Council (GEAC), Chief Oluneye Okuboyejo on the sudden passage of his daughter, Mrs. Bukola Awonuga, who died at the age of 57 years.

Speaking during a condolence visit to Chief Okuboyejo’s country home in Ijebu-ode, Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, expressed shock on the sudden death of Mrs. Awonuga, describing her demise as a huge loss to the family and the State at large.

The State’s Scribe, who was in the company of the Commissioner of Finance and Chief Economic Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Dapo Okubadejo and Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Alhaja Salimot Otun, encouraged Chief Okuboyejo to take solace in the fact that the deceased left behind remarkable legacies, which would forever linger in the hearts of all her loved ones.

“Our revered father, we are here to share in your grief at this period. The news of the demise of your amiable daughter came to the government and the entire people of the State as a rude shock. We take consolation in the fact that she lived a virtuous and exemplary life, worthy of emulation by all around her”, he said.

Also speaking, Consultant to the Governor on Media, Mrs. Yinka Ogundimu, described the deceased as a virtuous, loving and dependable friend, who would be greatly missed, saying she was selfless, kind hearted and very accessible to all that crossed her path”, she said.

In his response, Chief Okuboyejo, thanked the State Government for the show of love at this trying time, reassuring that he would continue to offer selfless service towards supporting the present administration in achieving the desired socio-economic development of the State.

 Speaking on behalf of the family, Mr. Bimbo Banjo, appreciated the delegation for conveying the message of the Governor and the people of the State to the family, noting that the memory of their sister would forever linger on in their hearts.

Mrs. Bukola Awonuga, (nee Okuboyejo), passed away on Thursday, June 4, 2020, after a brief illness.
