OGSG TRAINS JUNIOR OFFICERS ON EFFECTIVE SERVICE DELIVERY

In a bid to foster effectiveness and efficiency in service delivery, the Ogun State Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs has organised a day training Programme for its junior staff.    

Declaring open the training at the Ministry’s Conference room, in Abeokuta, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Kunle Osota, said it would be a regular exercise, as it was an integral part of an organizational development.

Represented by the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mr. Tunde Adesanya, Osota noted that so many factors were being considered before selecting participants, calling on them to take advantage of the two topics; “Ethics and Attitudinal Change in Junior Staff” and “Effective Office Skills for Administrative Support Staff”, to improve on their service delivery.

 In her presentation, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Teaching Service Commission, Mrs. Kehinde Idowu urged participants to always consider the ethics, attitudinal change, efficiency and effectiveness, attendance, character, teamwork, and appearance in the discharge of their various duties.          

“Officers are to develop a right attitude to work, surround themselves with positive people and free themselves from time wasters. Always fill your minds with positive input, control your language, create a routine for the day, take a break at the right time and leave at the right time”, she said

Also, the Director of Establishment and Industrial Relations, Bureau of Establishment and Training, Mr. Abolanle Oladipupo in his lecture titled: “Effective Office Skills for Administrative Support Staff”, dwelt on government regulations, schedules of duties, factors affecting productivity – staff training, good human relations, good working environment, incentives and job security amongst others, saying adequate adherence to all these would ensure effective service delivery.          

He enjoined participants to contribute their quota in raising the standard of the Ogun State Civil Service, which he noted was adjudged to be the best in Nigeria.          

Speaking on behalf of the participants, Busayo Mariam and Onakoya Babatunde, thanked the management for the opportunity to partake in the training which would enhance their productivity, pledging to always put in their best for the overall interest of the State.
