Ogun State government has issued a strong warning to persons or group of individuals, parading themselves as land grabbers also known as “Omo Onile”, terrorising part of  Egba Owode Community, by forcefully taking over and clearing landed properties within Government 2km acquisition and beyond.

A release signed by the Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Tpl Olatunji Odunlami, stated that the action was a violation of the extant Ogun State Land Grabbers Law titled, H.B NO03/2016, which prohibits forcible entry and occupation of landed properties, armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and allied matters.

The statement emphasised that the Governor Dapo Abiodun led administration would not hesitate to implement the full wrath of the law on any person or group of persons who violate its provision, as the law prescribed 25 years imprisonment or death sentence to anyone found guilty of land grabbing.
