The present administration in Ogun State will continue to uphold its mantra of Building Our Future Together which is built on sincerity, transparency and all-inclusive approach to governance.
The Chief of Staff to the Governor, Alhaji Shuaibu Salisu who stated this while featuring on a television programme in Abeokuta, noted that it would require a methodological and systematic approach for government to function optimally and impact positively on the livelihood of the people.
“If you could recall, Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration put in place the best transition work groups to critically access the position of things in the State, with a view of proffering lasting solution, we discovered that the State needed a total overhaul”, he noted.
Alhaji Salisu said a state of emergency was declared on the education sector, in order to reposition and improve the education standard in the State.
“If you look at education sector for instance, we declared a state of emergency having been confronted with the reality in the sector’’, he said.
He informed that the security sector was experiencing a paradigm shift, noting that apart from setting up a Security Trust Fund, provision of vehicles and other security equipment, government had also prioritised the welfare of security personnel, for them to perform optimally.
The COS maintained that the Prince Dapo Abiodun-led administration was committed to the agricultural sector with provision of grants and inputs to young farmers under the Anchor Borrowers Scheme and Fadama programme for 10,000 new farmers in the State.
Responding to a question on monitoring of security officials, the Chief of Staff assured that there would be proper monitoring mechanism of the activities of all security agencies, to ensure checks and balances in their conduct, as well as security of lives and property.
