Towards accelerating urbanization and complementing the industrial drive of the State, Ogun State Government is ready to develop a world-class master plan for three additional cities.
The Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Tpl. Olatunji Odunlami, made this known when he received members of the Nigerian Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Ogun State Chapter in Abeokuta, noting that the step became imperative for government to brace up and project ahead for the expected migration from neighbouring states, to forestall future chaos.
Odunlami listed the choice cities to include; Ijebu-Ode, Sagamu and Ota, noting that Abeokuta, as the State capital was being developed by the Future City, United Kingdom for better advancement and renewal.
While admonishing members of the institute to support the “Building Our Future Together” agenda, the Commissioner assured of the present administration’s readiness to always involve them on State Governments plans and policies in the area of Town Planning.

In her remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Urban and Physical Planning, Tpl. Yetunde Dina, appreciated the team, saying, all ideas discussed would be considered by the Ministry for implementation.
Earlier in his address, the Chairman, NITP Tpl. Oladotun Akinwale pledged the institute’s readiness to collaborate with the ministry, to ensure a conducive and well structured environment for business to thrive in the State.
