Ogun State Government has successfully made its impressive presence in Lagos-Ogun corridor, by regaining over 22 hectares land tagged, ‘’Waste Land’’ in Isheri through the commissioning of 1st Phase of MTR Gardens, Isheri.
Speaking at the commissioning of the 1st phase of 186 units of 2 and 3 bedroom flats, out of the total 600 units in focus, the outgoing Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, said this was a mission accomplished.
Governor Amosun expressed deep satisfaction and appreciation of the team of government agencies that had always supported the realization of the borderline policy of his administration, saying, it was through hard work, team spirit and partnership that brought about seamless project execution.
‘’We all worked round the clock with all agencies of government for this realization. I am happy and elated to commission MTR Gardens, while proceeding to MTR Ogun House, Ikoyi for its commissioning, also today’’, the Governor stated.
The Managing Director, Ogun State Property and Investment Corporation (OPIC), Mr. Babajide Odusolu, in his opening speech said, ‘’this is one of the States products, aimed at turning round its urban landscape. It is an end product of the entire Ogun State structure within Isheri, during the tenure of this administration’’.
According to him, MTR Gardens was the key tool that had been successfully implemented to combat the security and environmental challenges, which had impacted negatively and was discouraging residents and investors in that axis.
Odusola said, ‘’we had done the reclamation of 22 hectares of land in Isheri, as part of the State borderline policy, to fully tap borderline advantages across the State. Two kilometres of access asphalted road was also completed’’.
