The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele has joined the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi and four former Heads of Service in the State to honour the outgoing Head of Service, TPL. Amope Chokor, who will bow out of office on Friday, June 19, 2020.
Mrs. Modupe Adekunle, Mr. Olusola Adeyemi, Mr. Abayomi Sobande and Engr. Lanre Bisiriyu, who were physically present at the office of the HoS, at Oke- Mosan, Abeokuta, were joined by the Deputy Governor and the SSG through zoom to extolled the virtue of Mrs. Chokor and her role in moving the State Civil Service forward.
While appreciating the retiring Hos, the Deputy Governor, thanked her for maintaining her integrity and holding forth the office, saying she did not only change the status of the office, but improve on it.
“The outgoing Head of Service, Mrs. Chokor has surpassed our expectations, and surprised us all by putting facelift into the Civil Service of Ogun State. She is hardworking, friendly, accommodating and we shall all miss her expertise, as well as dedication to the development of our dear State”, she said.
On his part, the SSG, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi said he was elated to have worked with Mrs. Chokor, pointing out that she has brought discipline into the service and would be greatly missed by all and pray that God would increase her in every area.
Speaking earlier, Mrs. Modupe Adekunle said, though she served in various agencies, but never met Mrs. Chokor before nominating her for the position of Permanent Secretary, thanking her for not disappointing the office of the HoS, the entire Civil Service and the entire Ogun people.
Also in his tribute, former HoS, Mr. Abayomi Sobande, while congratulating her, said she was a great team player, who carried along people that surrounded her, describing her as energetic and friendly.
Various gifts were presented by Bureau of Service Matters, Bureau of Establishment and Training, State pension, Public Service Transformation Office, Local Government Pensions, Ministry of Justice amongst others.
