The Ogun State House of Assembly has charged the members of the Freelance and Independent Broadcasters Association of Nigeria to be mindful of the effect of information they put out to the public, while playing their roles as as opinion moulders with consideration to principle of truth and fairness.
The Chairman House Committe on Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon Yusuf Adejojo gave this charge while playing host to the newly elected executive members of the association led by Comrade Olufemi Omilani at his Oke Mosan Office, Abeokuta.
Hon Adejojo implored the association to embrace constructive criticism as well as value the intergriy of the country by disseminating quality information which could aid peaceful co-existence in the country, thus, advancing national development especially as the world had become a global village through the power of social media.
Adejojo further advised that the members of the association familiarise themselves with the activities of all arms of government to further appreciate their interdependence in promoting good governance.
Earlier, Comrade Omilani while congratulating his host and appreciating the 9th legislature for their contributions to development initiatives in the State, sought for a mutual relationships between the legislature and the association to further ensure quality service to the members.
