OGUN GOVERNOR APPOINTS CHIEF PRESS SECRETARY

The Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun, has appointed Mr. Sunday Olakunle Somorin, as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS).

 A release signed by the State Head of Service, Engr. Lanre Bisiriyiu, stated that, Somorin, holds a B.Ed (Hons) degree in English from the University of Port- Harcourt and a Masters Degree in International Affairs and Diplomacy, from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaira.

According to the release, the new CPS, an experienced editor, was a former London Bureau Chief of This Day Newspapers, with a rich work history in the media industry, a strong media and communication professional, skilled in editing, public speaking, journalism and strategic communications.

 It stated further that, Somorin has been privileged to work as the Director General, Research and Public Communications, Governor’s Office, Niger State between 2012 and 2015, as well as, Special Assistant, Media and Public Affairs, Office of the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, 2003 to 2007.

 Mr. Somorin, who was born on the 7th of May, 1967, hails from Obafemi-Owode Local Government Area of the State. He was until his appointment, the Editor-in-Chief, Africa Resource Centre (ARC), at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library.

The release added that, Governor Abiodun expressed optimism that Kunle Somorin would bring his wealth of experience and professional expertise to bear in the discharge of his duties.

 The appointment takes immediate effect.
