The outgoing Head of Service in Ogun State, Mrs. Amope Chokor has commended management and staff of Ogun State Environmental Protection Agency (OGEPA) for actively supporting government efforts in curbing the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in the State.
Mrs. Chokor gave the commendation during her visit to the agency at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, as part of her send-off programme, noting that though the pandemic was not yet over, the agency was able to proof its capability in promoting healthy living in the society.
She encouraged them to continue with social distancing, washing of hands among other necessary precautions, to keep safe at all times, saying as Civil Servants, they needed good health to achieve the government set goals.
Earlier in his remarks, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Environment, Mr. Rasak Ojetola, appreciated the Head of Service for her selfless service during her tenure, saying her contribution to the State’s Civil Service would not be forgotten.
Appreciating the HoS, a staff of the Ministry, Miss Zaidat Otubanjo, thanked the outgoing Head of Service on behalf of her colleagues, for her efforts at ensuring their employment into the service was regularised, promising that they would contribute their quota in achieving government set goals.
In a related development, Staffers of the Bureau of State Pensions have been admonished to sustain the legacy of promptly attending to issues concerning pensioners, while treating them with respect, in order to have a fulfilled life after retirement.
The State Head of Service, TPL Amope Chokor gave the admonition during her farewell visit to the Bureau, saying they should be diligent in the discharge of their duties, as all good deed would be adequately rewarded.
Mrs. Chokor thanked the State Government, under the leadership of Prince Dapo Abiodun for the achievements recorded during her tenure, which greatly improved service delivery across Ministries, Departments and Agencies.
Earlier, in his remark, the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of State Pensions, Mr. Olukunle Sodehinde appreciated the retiring Head of Service for supporting the Bureau while her tenure last, praying God to satisfy her with good health and happiness, to reap the fruits of her labour.
The Head of Service was accompanied by the Permanent Secretary, Bureau of Service Matters Mr. Kolawole Fagbohun and Directors in the Bureau.
