Workers in Ogun State have been urged to remain focused and support government in achieving set targets, in order to ensure all round success towards moving the State’s Civil Service to enviable heights.
The State Head of Service, Mrs. Amope Chokor, who stated this while on farewell visit to various Ministries, Departments and Agencies at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, enjoined the State’s workforce to put in their best, so that the Dapo Abiodun led administration’s Building Our Future Together agenda could be realized.
“Work on your target and try to sell it to your followers too, so that they can key into it. Please, don’t look back, like when I was the PS at the Civil Service Commission, I focused on changing all our data from hard to soft copies, even in the midst of challenges, I didn’t look back and God helped us, we really achieve a lot. Let’s think out of the box, be hard working and you will reap the benefits later”, she said.
Remarking during the HoS’ visit to his Ministry, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Afolabi Afuwape appreciated her for a time well spent in public service and her immeasurable contribution to the development of Civil Service in Ogun State, within the short period of her appointment, saying her contribution has shown that ‘’it does not take eternity or gender to impact the world’’.
Afuape commended her loyalty to the present administration, challenging workers to emulate her virtue by embracing hard work and commitment, adding that the Head of Service’s contribution to the State would always be a point of reference in years to come.
Speaking at the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, the HoS commiserated with the agency on the demise of Mr. Sola Lawal, who served meritoriously, thanking Governor Abiodun for making welfare of Ogun workers his priority.
At the Ministry of Information and Strategy, the Permanent Secretary, Mr. Abiodun Awere appreciated the Head of Service for her support in championing unprecedented development, as her tenure witnessed procurement of cameras, monitors, new set of chairs and other essential tools, which has boost the morale of staff in the Ministry, praying God to continue to be with her.
Other agencies visited were Bureau of Political Affairs and Administration, Ministries of Budget, Finance and Accountant- General, Rural Development and Health, Hospitals Management Board, as well as, Teaching Service Commission amongst others.
