Governor Amosun, who was represented by the Commissioner for Finance, Mr. Adewale Oshinowo, explained that the airport when completed, would help the State maximise its potentials as the investment hub of the country and the Gateway to the West Africa sub-region.

“It is important that the Directorate of Finance and Accounts of FAAN updates its knowledge, skills and attitude, to cope with the complexities of financing and accounting techniques, for effective and efficient control,’’ he said.
He maintained that the role of Accountants in documentation and monitoring of resources of any organisation, to check-mate misuse, diversion and violation of its policies, could not be overemphasised, hence the need for regular training and appraisal of their activities.
In a statement issued by the Press Officer, Ministry of Finance, Gbemisola Akanbi, Governor Amosun charged participants who are members of the Directorate of Finance and Account, FAAN, to seize the opportunity of the retreat, to come up with more practicable and improved approaches to discharging their duties.
The Director, Finance and Account, FAAN, Mrs. Adenike Aboderin, said the choice of Ogun State, as the venue for the two day retreat, was due to its recent position as the industry hub of the country, saying the theme of the meeting, ‘’Achieving Better Result through People, Process, Platforms & Performance,’’ was to further emphasise the role and importance of people in achieving the set goals of the organisation.
