OGUN MULLS UPGRADE OF TECHNOLOGY INCUBATION CENTERS

The Ogun State government has said that plans are underway to upgrade the three Technology Incubation Centers to make them pacesetters in technological advancements and also to encourage more youths in embracing entrepreneurship.

The Commissioner for Industry, Trade and Investment, Mrs. Kikelomo Longe, made this known when officials of the Technology Incubation Centers in the State paid a courtesy visit to her  at Oke-Mosan, Abeokuta, saying the development of the Incubation Centers in Abeokuta, Odogbolu and Owode-Yewa would boost value chain in providing a wide-range of opportunities for youths in the State.

Mrs. Longe pledged the Ministry’s commitment in facilitating access to credit for ‘incubatees’, who have good businesses, adding that government would continue to support efforts geared towards solving problems through technology, as government was already working on making the proposed Industrial Park in the State, a reality.

In his address, the Manager, Technology Incubation Center, Abeokuta, Mr. Olusola Adebayo, revealed that ‘’Ogun is the only State that has three Technology Incubation Centers’’, calling for more support in the area of security and infrastructure for the Centres.

He requested for a common facility Centre, which could be shared by various entrepreneurs, saying this would help government generate more revenue, create employment, boost industrialisation, aid Nigeria’s foreign exchange and improve the country’s balance of trade.
