OGUN OUTLINES ACTIVITIES FOR 60TH NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE CELEBRATION

Ogun State Government has outlined its activities to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the country’s independence.

A statement signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, stated that the event would commence with a Special Jumat Service on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, by 1pm while Anniversary Church Service holds at St. Peter’s Cathedral, Ake, Abeokuta on Sunday September 27, 2020 at 10a.m.            

 The statement indicated that the State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun would on October 1, 2020 deliver an address to the people of the State in the morning, while a grand finale featuring a special documentary on Nigeria at 60 and presentations by school children, among others would come up at the June 12 Cultural Centre, Kuto, Abeokuta by 10 a.m.

It further stated that all events are strictly by invitation due to COVID-19 restrictions.
