ABEOKUTA – The Publicity Secretary of the Ogun State Caretaker Committee of All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr. Tunde Oladunjoye has described as laughable the alleged involvement of the ruling party and Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo in the crisis rocking the state chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC Publicity Secretary was reacting to a statement credited to embattled member of the House of Representatives representing Remo Federal Constituency in Ogun State, Hon. Ladi Adebutu.
NEWS FLAGSHIP reports that, Hon. Adebutu at a press conference in Lagos on Friday blamed the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Vice President Yemi Osinbajo for fuelling the crisis rocking the Ogun State chapter of PDP.
Adebutu alleged that, the Vice President was desperate to win the state for his party, APC in the March 2 governorship election, thereby causing rancour among members of the party in the state.
He further accused APC of influencing a separate court order on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recognize Buruji Kashamu’s exco of the PDP in the state.
But in his swift reaction, the APC Publicity Secretary in the state, Tunde Oladunjoye described the allegation as “laughable and weekend comic relief “.
He said, “Our attention has just been drawn to the allegation made by Hon. Ladi Adebutu that the All Progressives Congress (APC), and the Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo are behind the age-long crises rocking the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in ogun State.
“Hon. Ladi Adebutu’s allegation is laughable like a weekend comic relief. I say this because the crisis in Ogun State PDP predated the entrance of Hon. Adebutu into the race. He should ask older members of the PDP what is called Nwachukwu Panel and when; that will tell him how long the intractable crises in Ogun PDP have been. APC and the Vice President have no hand in the debilitation of PDP, which is self- inflected”.
