The Federal Government Programme for Expanded Water Supply Sanitation and Hygiene (PEWASH) projects in Ogun State have been described as true reflection of the State Government’s position on implementing projects of international standard.
This submission was made by a team from the Federal Ministry of Water Resources, led by Engr. Tunde Oyedokun, who were on a verification tour of all projects in the three Senatorial Districts of the State, to ascertain their condition.
‘’We know the projects are on ground and well executed; the team just wanted to ascertain their condition and we are happy that most of the projects are in perfect condition’’, Oyedokun stated.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Rural Development, Mr. Olalekan Lukan, appreciated the team, saying PEWASH was not about bringing projects into the State, but ensuring adequate water supply in selected locations, for the benefit of rural dwellers.
Areas visited included; Oke-Odo, Igan, Kajola, Semore-Balogun, Ako-Adekoya and Mamu communities, Ago-Iwoye town and Ago-Iwoye farm settlement, all in Ijebu North Local Government of the State.
