One of the six victims that were taken to the hospital after the incident that happened on Tuesday has died.
The victim, who was being treated at the Intensive Care Unit of the FMC on Thursday, two days after the incident.
The deceased whose name was not disclosed,was among the six victimsmovedon Tuesday from the scene of the tanker explosion that occurred on the Presidential BoulevadKuto Abeokuta
Out of the nine victims, three has died on the spot, while the remaining six badly injured including the deceased were taken the hospitals for treatment at both the state hospital and FMC.
The Head of Public Relations at the FMC, Abeokuta, Segun Orisajo, on Thursday said that on admission, he along with the two other patients were commenced on intravenous fluid resuscitation, in accordance with the established protocols for the management of burns.
He further disclosed that the patient was observed to be having difficulty in passing urine, adding that he was scheduled for dialysis but he died in the early hours of this morning before dialysis could be carried out on him.
The FMC PRO also said that the Medical Director, Prof Adewale Musa-Olomu, regretted the loss of the patient and sympathized with his family over the unfortunate situation.
