OGUN TO HOLD VIRTUAL CHILDREN’S DAY CELEBRATION

Ogun State Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Development will on Wednesday, May 27, 2020, hold a virtual children’s Day Celebration, with the theme, “Promoting Girl Child Education for Sustainable Development”.

This, according to a release signed by the Ministry’s Commissioner, Hon. Funmi Afuwape, was sequel to the Covid-19 pandemic across the globe and by extension Nigeria and Ogun State, which mandated maintenance of social distancing, as well as gathering of not more than 20 persons. 

The release stated that activities lined up for the day include talent hunt for 20 secondary school students, each from the three Senatorial Districts, who will participate in the following categories; poem recitation on the theme, cultural display on Covid-19, quiz, as well as Music, with focus on Keyboard, trumpet and saxophone.

 It added that the event, which would be online, will take place at Ogun Tech Hub, Kobape, Abeokuta, by 8:00am.
