Ogun Trains Traditional Birth Attendants On Standard Practice


To ensure standard practice and make Traditional Birth Attendants (TBA) more professional, Ogun State government has organised a day programme to enhance safer and effective child delivery.

The Commissioner for Health,
Dr. Tomi Coker explained that the training was meant to enhance professional practice by TBA, improve and bring about efficient development in the Ogun health sector.

She assured that the Abiodun led-administration would provide necessary logistics and procedures aimed at standardizing the practice of the alternate medicine practitioners in Ogun state.

The chairman of the State Medicine Board, Dr. Balogun Nurudeen beseech the governor of Ogun to equip the traditional practitioners with necessary skills to enable them measure up to best global practice.

“The government of Ogun State should make provisions for modern technology and other important logistics that would lead to effective and efficient operation of the board,” he said.
