ABEOKUTA – Leadership of Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN in Ogun State on Tuesday as described Mr. Femi Adeeko whose campaign posters as the party’s governorship candidate flooded the social media as an impostor.
The party in a press release issued by its State Chairman, Alhaja Aminat Olatunbosun said Mr. Adeeko’s act was malicious and mischievous.
Alhaja Aminat noted that, the party did not field any governorship candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Ogun State, but endorsed the Social Democratic Party, SDP governorship candidate in the state, Otunba Rotimi Paseda.
She added that, the party’s primary held at in October, 2018 was only for the House of Assembly and House of Representatives.
She therefore called on Security agencies to immediately arrest the impostors and charge them to court for perpetually misleading members of the public.
“The attention of Ogun State chapter of Unity Party of Nigeria, UPN has been drawn to a malicious and mischievous campaign posters of one Femi Adeeko and Adebunmi Bankole as governorship candidate and Deputy Governor candidate respectively of our great party.
“We want to unequivocally state that, the Ogun State chapter of UPN did not field any governorship candidate for the forthcoming governorship election in Ogun State as we have publicly endorsed the Social Democratic Party, SDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, Otunba Rotimi Paseda as our trusted candidate who has our support.
“We are however shocked to see campaign posters of the self-acclaimed impostors parading themselves as UPN governorship and deputy governorship candidates.
“We however once again further reiterate our unalloyed support for SDP governorship candidate in Ogun State, Otunba Olatunde Rotimi Paseda in the forthcoming general elections.”
