The Olu of Owode, Oba Kolawole Sowemimo has called on all Owode Egba Compatriots to unite and work together towards the greater development of the entire Owode Egba.
Oba Sowemimo made the clarion call when today at his Palace during the installation of the Mayegun and Yeye Mayegun of Owode Egba, Chief Adesina Luwoye and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Olabisi Luwoye.
The Owode Egba Monarch added that Chief Adesina had been appointed as Mayegun of Owode due to his laudable achievements and hardwork towards development of his township.
He further said that the new Mayegun had made his family and the entire Owode proud, adding that he had been a source of joy to his parents since he was little.
Oba Kolawole Sowemimo also called on older mothers to endeavour to educate younger ones so as to in turn, properly train their children to become meaningful and useful to themselves and the society.
The Olu of Owode expressed utmost joy that many Egba compatriots had shown love and support towards the installation of Chief Luwoye and his wife as the Mayegun and Yeye Mayegun of Owode Egba.
The Owode Egba Monarch also prayed that the new Mayegun of Owode and his Erelu would live long and fulfil their God-given purposes in life.
Delivering his vote of thanks, Chief Adesina Luwoye, the Mayegun of Owode Egba, expressed gratitude to Oba Kolawole Sowemimo, for deeming it fit to honour him and his wife about nine years ago adding that he would continue and add valued to what the Monarch had said he was doing to qualify him for honour.
The Mayegun also appreciated his friends, well wishers and family members for attending the short ceremony despite the ongoing Coronavirus Pandemic, which had made it not possible to organize a big party.
Mayegun Sina Luwoye thanked all his well wishers for their compliance with Covid19 Protocols of the government.
Chief Luwoye also pledged to put Owode first, as he was a man that puts his origin first in all that he was doing, adding that he was prepared to work with the Chiefs following the leadership of the Owode Monarch to ensure greater development of the area.
He also assured that he would facilitate the building of a Library for Egba Owode Grammar School before March 2021.
Mayegun Adesina Luwoye urged other patriotic citizens to support his vision because it is not a job for him alone.
Owode Egba High Chiefs present at the occasion included the Iyalaje Owode Egba; Chief (Mrs) Simbiatu Anifowoshe, Sarunmi Owode Egba; Chief Alani Asimi, Chief (Mrs) Iyabo Salami, Iyaloja of Owode, Jagunmolu Owode Egba; Chief Alex Akinyele, GbegbaAje of Owode Egba; Chief (Mrs) Okedairo, and others.
Many Egba compatriots and dignitaries were present at the ceremony.
They included the Osi of Egbaland, Chief Olabode Akeem Mustapha; Chief (Engr) Tokunbo Odebunmi, Onimoero of Egbaland; Chief Ayo Biobaku, Balogun Gbagura Oke-Odo; Deacon Atilade Bolarinwa, President Abeokuta Sports Club.
