ABEOKUTA – Association of Online Media Practitioners of Nigeria (OMPAN), Ogun State Chapter has commended Governor Ibikunle Amosun of Ogun State for the urban renewal of the state capital, Abeokuta.
OMPAN is an arm of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), regulating and coordinating the activities of Online News brands and other digital media professionals in the country.
Rising from its monthly congress on Monday, OMPAN applauded the state government’s drive towards transforming the Urban and Physical outlook of the state, especially the capital, urging the government to do more in further improving the living standards of the indigenes.
The Online Media Practitioners therefore, charged the masses to remain supportive and prayerful for a continued peaceful co-existence that would pave way for rapid growth and development of the country.
In a communique jointly signed by its Secretary, Michael-Azeez Ogunsiji and the Public Relations Officer, John Izabi urged governor Amosun to ensure the completion of ongoing projects in the state.
“With keen interest we have observed the ongoing beautification of some major towns in Abeokuta by the state government. We make bold to say that, the State Governor is indeed committed to urban renewal project of the state.
“We therefore urged the state government to also look into the welfare of the people by improving the living standard of the people, while we call on the masses to remain supportive and prayerful for the peace of the nation.”
Meanwhile, the State OMPAN Chairman, Kayode Akin-Samuel urged all Muslims and indeed other members of the public to continue to live with moderation even after the Eid-el-Kabir celebration.
“As we merry and thank God for sparing our lives to witness this year’s celebration, let’s embrace peace, tolerance and unity at all levels.”
“We however urge everyone of us to celebrate with moderation, during and after the Ileya celebration and let’s keep deep reflection about our collective existence and show utmost love and care to one and another.”
“Let’s continue to support and pray for our leaders and the continued sustenance of peace across the land in order to pave way for continued rapid socio-economic and political developments of our dear country.”
