A book launch organised by the Muslim Ummah of South-West Nigeria (MUSWEN) will The Vice-President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, Sultan of Sokoto and President-General, Nigeria Supreme Council For Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar and Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Lamidi Adeyemi are among other eminent personalities expected at a book presentation organised by the Muslim Ummah of South-West Nigeria (MUSWEN).

Other prominent Nigerians expected to grace the launch of the book titled: “Islam in Yorubaland: History, Education & Culture” are the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu, his Osun State counterpart, Mr Gboyega Oyetola.

A statement by Chairman Organising Committee, Alhaji Lere Alimi, said the book scheduled to be unveiled at the Radisson Blu Hotel, Ikeja was sponsored by MUSWEN to keep the proper history of Islam in Yorubaland and to serve as the reference point for generations unborn.He said the Founder of Guaranty Trust Bank (GTB) and the Founder and Chairman of the FATE Foundation, Alhaji Fola Adeola will chair the event. Besides, the National Missioner/Chief Imam, Ansar-Ud-Deen Society of Nigeria (AUSDN), Imam Abdur-Rahman Ahmad would deliver a lecture at the hybrid event.Prof. Rafiu Adebayo, Provost, Fed College of Education (FCE) Iwo will review the book while ex-Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Jubrila Ayinla will be the Chief Book Presenter.

Other notable guests expected at the occasion include Mrs Noimot Salako-Oyedele, Ogun State Deputy Governor, her Lagos counterpart, Dr Obafemi Hamzat; MUSWEN President-General, Alhaji Rasaki Oladejo; Executive Secretary Prof. Muslih Yahya, Baba Adinni of Lagos, Sheikh AbdulAfeez Abou, Chief Imam of Lagos, Sheikh Sulaimon Abou-Nolla; JAMB Registrar, Prof Ishaq Oloyede; Mr Yusuf Ali (SAN) and Mr Ahmed Raji (SAN).
