Over fifty persons were said to have been kidnapped by armed bandits along the Regina-Minna road in Rafi Local Government of Niger State.
The incident, it was gathered occurred, Tuesday, when the three commercial vehicles conveying nine passengers including the drivers ran into the roadblock at Kundu set up by the bandits.
The passengers in the three cars were kidnapped and conveyed to an unknown location and the vehicles were left by the roadside, according to DAILY POST.
The latest attack from the same axis is coming less than a week after the release of abducted passengers traveling with the NSTA and the Government Science College (GSC), Kagara in the Rafi Local Government Area of Niger state.
Sources said the armed bandits blocked the road along with Kundu village, few kilometers from Zungeru town in Wushishi Local Government Area when the commercial vehicles carrying nine passengers including drivers each rammed into the roadblock mounted by the bandits.
In another development, a yet to be ascertained number of villagers have been declared missing after armed bandits invaded Gidigori town in Rafi Local Government Area.
The invaders, according to the source also set ablaze five cars and also carted away food items and personal valuables of the villagers.
ASP Wasiu Abiodun, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) could not confirm the attacks at the time of filing this report.
