IJEBUOtunba Rotimi Paseda, the Chairman, Paseda Legacy Foundation has advised Nigerian youths to engage in ventures that would prepare them for the challenges ahead.




Paseda gave the advice on Sunday while playing host to Online Media Practitioners Association of Nigeria (OMPAN) at Ijebu-Ode, Ogun State.

He said that the trend where youths spent productive period of the day on social media, either discussing people or spreading falsehood was counterproductive.

The business mogul cum politician, said there were a lot of opportunities open to youths to explore and make money online.

He regretted that youths spent valuable time in pursuit of formal education without the entrepreneurship component.

“They lack the entrepreneurship component of education, hence, their inability to be innovative,” Paseda said.

The governorship aspirant in Ogun State for the 2019 general elections, also urged youths to cultivate the culture of time management if they hope to be successful in their chosen field of endeavour.

The former Ogun State 2015 UPN governorship candidate also called on them to make the best use of the opportunities provided by the various empowerment schemes in the country.

He noted that most people went to school, these days, for the fun of it and for self expression, adding that the application component was lacking.

“Education is necessary but not sufficient to be successful. But here, phone is causing problem for our youths, they spend their time chatting time away because that is what the society permits now.

“I think the narrative should change the orientation of time management.

“There should be time for eating, time to work, time to rest and time to play with your phones.”

Paseda maintained that, the Not Too Young to Run law was not only meant to enable the nation youths take over the political space but all other aspects of national life.

The Omu-Ijebu born politician described politics as one of the many areas youths could actively participate and prepare to take over the business, agriculture and Information Communication Technology sectors, among others.

He said that this was the only way they could adequately equip themselves to take over the political space.
