PEOPLE OF IJAIYE PUT BEHIND THEM THE DISASTER OF THE FLASH FLOOD

Life has started again in Ijaiye 3 days after been hit by the flash flood.

A newsflagship reporter that went round the area noted that business activities had picked up in the road leading from mortuary junction to the Gbangba market.

Although debris of the floods still liter the main market itself, the butchers could be seen fully engaged in their business while other traders were also doing businesses in the open weather.

The head of the butcher association Chief Mutiu Adeagbo, the Babalaje of Ijaiye said that in spite of what happened, life must continue.

Also the staff and pupils of Gracelight Foundation School Ijaiye, Abeokuta, were back in school as at 9am.

 

The Headmistress of the school, Mrs. Oluleye Faith, told our reporter that only the play equipment were washed away, while the approach entrance at the road leading to the school were equally damaged

Mrs. Oluleye Faith thanked God that the children had just closed 30 minutes earlier that Friday when the flash flood occurred.

Meanwhile, the pedestrian bridge linking Gbangba and Isale-Abese had finally collapsed.

The bridge was badly shaken by the flood and the Balogun, High Chief Ganiyu Babayeju had warned that nobody should use the bridge in crossing to avoid unnecessary danger.
