Only one Petrol Station out of seven along Sapon – Idi-Aba road abide by the Government’s directive to reduce oil price from #143 to #125 per litre.
Newsflagship’s investigation showed that six of the seven petrol stations along the area claimed that they could not sell at the new rate because they still had the whole stock.
They told our reporter that they had bought the petrol at #143. per litre adding that it would be bad business if they started selling at a lower price.
However, Ayomide Petrol Station near the Mortuary Junction, which dispensed the fuel at the new rate of #125. per litre said they had informed their source of supply what they had in stock as at the time of the announcement and their principal would make good the shortfall.
This informed why there were scarsely vehicles in the six stations as most motorists were not patronizing those still selling at #143.
