Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde has stated that Public Private Partnership (PPP) is essential to achieving accelerated development as government alone cannot do it all.
Kehinde stated this at the opening ceremony of a two-month skill acquisition and empowerment programme on Acutherapy, organised by Dangote Cement Factory, Ibese, for Youths in their host communities, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) scheme for the year 2020.
Expressing readiness to partner with any organisation for the development of the State, the Commissioner commended Dangote group for the gesture, saying that youth empowerment was one of the key agenda of the Dapo Abiodun led administration.
He admonished the trainees to sustain and apply the skills gained for the overall development of the State, saying that government alone cannot meet the needs of the people.
In his remarks, the Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, appreciated Dangote plc, for its contributions to its host communities, while affirming that the company remained committed to its CSR.
Oba Olugbenle who was represented by the Seriki of Ilaro, Chief Ebenezer Babatunde congratulated the beneficiaries, with a charge on them to see the training as a means of empowering themselves and their communities.
One of the beneficiaries, Adefunke Ajayi thanked the Company for the opportunity, promising to use the knowledge gained for betterment of the community.
