The Diocesan Bishop of Egba, Right Reverend E. O. Adekunle, has called on the former Chief Medical Director of the Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH, Professor Opeoluwa Adekunle to dedicate the remaining part of his life to thanking God, renewing his services to humanity in the name of the Lord as well as reassessing all the mercies and bounties of the Almighty.
Preaching the sermon at St John’s Anglican Church, Igbein, to mark the 80th Birthday Anniversary of the renowned Professor of Surgery,Bishop Daisi Adekunle advised Prof Opeoluwa Adekunle to rededicate his life with renewed vigour and vitality to humanity.
From now on, Professor Adekunle should be assessing all God has done for him.
The Diocesan Bishop said Prof Opeoluwa Adekunle was alive only because God wanted him to be.
According to Bishop Daisi Adekunle, such rededication by Professor Adekunle, would sustain his service and obedience of His commandments. as well as ensure his giving thanks to Him all the time.
Attendance at the Thanksgiving Service included the former Nigeria’s President Olusegun Obasanjo; former Head of State and Chairman of National Interim Government, Chief Ernest Shonekan, former Ogun State Governor Gbenga Daniel; the Alake, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo; the Oshile, Oba Adedapo Tejuoso; the Olu Itori, Oba Fatai Akamo; the Olugbore, Oba Festus Makinde; the Olu Siun Oba Lawrence Odeyinka; Olu OkeOdo Ilupeju, Oba Muftau Akindele; Olu Itori Odo Onitafin Orile-Tafin, Adebayo among others.
Egba High Chiefs in large attendance were Balogun Sikirullah Atobatele, Seriki Tosin Fadare, Aro Yinka Kufile, Ogun Baade, Tunji Sunmonu and Aare Baaroyin Layi Labode.
Other dignitaries included the retired Ogun State Chief Dentist and Sports Administrator, High Chief Ayinde Ibikunle; Acting Managing Director of OPIC, Lady Yemi Adesoye and the Trio of Oba Adedapo Tejuoso’s wives,
