The Chairman of the Ogun State Alternate Medicine Board, Balogun Nurudeen Olaleye has analysed how the rate of mortality, most especially that of pregnant women and children, in Ogun State can be reduced.
He made this know while declaring the 2021 Refresher Courses For Mission Birth Attendants tagged ” Managing Compilation Labour and Child Delivery Current Trends”.
He said Traditional Birth Attendants need to out more effort and work relentlessly so that pregnancy and Child birth related Complications can be prevented. .
Olaleye allegedly noted that the high rate of mortality in the society could be prevented, if proper identification, management and referral of complications were addressed as and when due.
“You need to do more, now that the present administration led by Prince Dapo Abiodun has given Birth Attendants and other Alternate Medicine Practitioners in the State the necessary support to ensure proper transformation and sanity in the system. It is expected that you give maximum support to the government by complementing its efforts through your registration and participation in available training and re-training programmes”, he said.
The National President, Mission Birth Attendants, Mrs. Elizabeth Quadri, Mrs. Abosede Olaleye and many other prominent and specialists graced the occasion.
