The Transition Committee Chairman, Yewa South Local Government, Alhaji Rahmon Fagbenro has advised beneficiaries of the Federal Government Special Public Works Programme across the council area, to work hard and not see the programme as a ‘national cake’.
Rather, they should see it as a call to service.
Alhaji Fagbenro gave the charge while addressing the beneficiaries of the programme, assuring that the authority of the Local Government would not relent at creating a conducive environment and providing necessary materials for them to work with.
The Chairman, represented by his Vice, Mr. Samson Salako, stated that his administration is committed to the welfare of staff, urging them to utilize the opportunity to prove their worth as ambassadors of the Local Government and be ready to serve if given bigger responsibility.
Also speaking, the Secretary to the Local Government, Hon. Haruna Dada admonished them to be ready to work, to contribute their quota to the development of the State and the nation at large, saying their commitment to work would be considered before the payment of their allowance.
Responding on behalf of other beneficiaries, Mr. Tunde Akinyode, appreciated the council boss and his team for checking on them, promising that they would put in their best and contribute positively to the development of the area.
