Towards ensuring holistic Waste Management Programmes, the Ogun State Waste Management Authority, (OGWAMA) would begin household refuse collection intervention services, from Monday, February 3, 2020.
A statement by the Special Adviser on Environment, Mr. Ola Oresanya, the intervention programme aimed at preventing households from dumping their refuse on roads, would involve waste managers collecting refuse from house to house, free of charge.

Oresanya noted that the programme would be in phases across major cities and towns in the State, calling on residents to cooperate with the waste managers by dropping their refuse for collection, as anyone found dumping refuse on roadside during the intervention services would be sanctioned.
He added that the first phase of the programme would begin from Ijebu- Ode, Ikenne, Sagamu, Ogere and lperu.
