President-General, Mzough U Tiv (MUT), world-wide, retired Controller of Prisons, Iorbee Ihagh has called for the unconditional release of the Vanguard newspapers reporter, Tordue Salem, who has gone missing a fortnight ago.
He also called on journalists across the country to embark on an indefinite protest until Salem is released, unconditionally.
Tordue Salem is a Reporter with the Vanguard newspapers who covers the House of Representatives (HoR) at the National Assembly.
Ihagh also called on the Salem’s employers; Vanguard newspapers to suspend all its publications, until the Reporter is reunited with his family and colleagues.
According to the President-General, “I call on security agents to locate the missing journalist, Tordue Salem of Vanguard newspapers who covers legislative activities in the green chambers and has been missing since 13th October, 2021.
“We condemn the abduction of the journalist and task security agents to produce Tordue Salem alive and reunite him with his family and colleagues who have been traumatised over his disappearance.”
Though further said, “I call on his abductors to release him (Salem) unconditionally and without further delay and place a call on journalists in Nigeria to protest until Salem is released.
“I also call on Vanguard newspapers
to suspend their publication in protest, until Salem is released unconditionally.”
