Sagamu LG Chairman Warns Traders Against Roadside, Street Trading

Traders in Sagamu Local Government Area of Ogun State have been warned against roadside trading to avoid road obstruction and allow free flow of vehicular and pedestrian movements.

The Council Chairman, Hon. Jubril Odulate gave this warning during surveillance to some markets in Sagamu, where he frowned at the rate people displayed their wares on the roadside, especially on market days, saying this had led to the loss of man-hours and human lives.

He advised the traders to use the stalls and other designated places provided by the government within the market for their safety.

Hon. Odulate urged them to comply with stipulated regulations and join hands at ensuring the security of lives and property in the community.

‘’It is our responsibility to ensure the safety of lives and property but we cannot do it alone, as safety is a collaborative effort. As much as government has a role to play, so also the governed, so, let us join hands to build our future together,” the Chairman stated.
