In order to ensure peaceful co-existence between residents of border towns, Sagamu Local Government Authority, has embarked on Boundary Adjustment exercise in Ogijo area, a boundary town between Ogun and Lagos States.
The Vice Chairman, Transition Committee, Sagamu Local Government, Alhaji Wasiu Adebayo who stated this during the boundary demarcation exercise, noted that it was imperative for the two states to harmonise revenue collection, from residents of the border towns, as well as increase the Internally Generated Revenue.
He decried encroachment by some officers from neighbouring State who were found collecting revenue from residents on Ogun land, saying such act had been causing undue boundary dispute among dwellers in the area.
Also speaking, Surveyor Muyideen Omotosho from the State’s Ministry of Lands and Survey, explained that the boundary pillars had been noted alongside their numbers, saying the Ministry would speed up action to ensure boundary adjustment as soon as possible.
The Community Leader, Ita-Oluwo, Ogijo, Alh. Adesiya Animashaun applauded the Local Government officials for the timely intervention, saying unlawful revenue collectors had been warned several times to desist from such acts.
