SENATOR IBIKUNLE AMOSUN EXTOLS UNITY AMONG EGBA MUSLIMS; Promises To Help In The Construction of New Central Mosque At The Lantoro Praying Grounds

Senator Ibikunle Amosun has expressed joy that the selection of the new Imam was an all-inclusive exercise, devoid of rancour or any form of acrimony.

Senator Ibikunle Amosun made the observation while receiving the leadership of the Egba Muslim Community in his house, comprising the the new Chief Imam, Sheikh Sa’adullah Bamigbola; the BabaAdeen, Navy Captain Rasheed Raji, and the four Egba Sectional Imams.

Senator Amosun recalled that he had told the Alake that he would only support any activities that that promoted unity and bounded together all Egba Communities, adding that, the current Egba Muslim Community leadership, had passed that litmus test because they were together in serous task of appointment of their Apex Leader.

He pleaded that Muslims should promote what united Egbaland rather what divided her.

He also appealed that the successes achieved so far in Egba Muslim unity and cohesion should continue to wax stronger.

The Patron of the Egbaland Muslim Organization, promised that he would do his best to see the proposed Egba New Central Mosque billed to be situated at the current Lantoro Praying Ground, come to reality as soon as possible.

Earlier at the occasion, the BabaAdeen of Egbaland, Chief Rasheed Raji, had presented the new Imam to the former Ogun State Governor and currently the Senator, representing Ogun Central Senatorial District, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, describing the exercise, as an all-inclusive exercise.

BabaAdeen Rasheed Raji, disclosed that the Egba Muslim Community, would not officially turban the new Imam without formal presentation for acceptance and blessings by all the Stakeholders and Patrons, adding that Senator Ibikunle Amosun had always been a veritable and consistent Patron of the Egba Muslim Community.

Reacting to his formal presentation for acceptance and blessings to Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the new Egba Chief Imam, Sheikh Sa’adallah Bamigbola, expressed satisfaction, pledging to spiritually lead Egba Muslims with justice, equity, love and understanding.

The Grand Imam, commended Senator Ibikunle Amosun for his consistent support of the Egba Muslim Community for peace and progress in Egbaland and Ogun State in General.

The Egba Apex Muslim leader further appealed to the Senator, to keep alive his promise to help in the construction of the new Egba Central Mosque at the current Lantoro Praying Grounds.

The Newsflagship Online learnt that, the last of the visitations to Egba Iconic Leaders and Stakeholders, would be to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo at the OOPL this week.

The turbaning of the new Imam comes up on Thursday, 23rd of July, at the Egba Central Mosque, Kobiti, Abeokuta, under the Chairmanship of the Aranse Egba, High Chief Alhaji Tajudeen Olori.

Very Important Personalities that joined Senator Ibikunle Amosun to receive the Egba Muslims delegation, included, the former Minister of Mines and Steel Development and now Ambassador Designate, Honourable Sarafa Tunji Ishola, the BabaAdeen of Yorubaland; the Baaloro of Egbaland and Osi of Owu, High Chief Adeniyi Adegbenro; Immediate past Chairman, Ogun State SUBEB, Alhaji Jeleel Okewole; and Alhaji Agba Amosun.

Other members of the Egba Muslims delegation included Chief Imams OkeOna, Alhaji Muideen Nosiru; Gbagura, Professor Kamal Balogun, and Owu, Alhaji Sulaiman Kehinde.

Some Egba Ologun Muslim Chiefs present were Bada Sherrif Ogunrinola and Olootu Layi Labode, the Chairman of the Planning Committee for the Inauguration of the New Chief Imam.
