The Grand Daughter of the Hero of the 35th Edition of Lisabi Festival, Dr. J. J. Ransome-Kuti, Yemisi has called on all Adire manufacturers to sensitise and engage the youths in Adire making to boost production, in order affect Egba economy positively
Ms Yemisi made the call, in her appreciation for the honour done on her Grand Father for recognizing him as the hero of this year’s Lisabi festival, at the Festival’s Press Conference, on Monday, 21st of February, 2022
Ms Ransome-Kuti noted that, Nigeria youths were creative and energetic, adding that, they would do great things in so many places, if they were given the opportunity.
She added that, Adire was Egba’s originality trademark and had been in existence for centuries, asserting that, Adire Egba would be demanded locally and internationally, if it could be manufactured in large quantities with modern technology.
She said that, youths should be given a platform to express their gift and area of interest, whereby, it would boost their morale and keep them away from heinous activities.
Mrs Yemisi also reiterated that, Adire production was a good and lucrative business, that would become successful in the global market, if the Government could finance and give facilities to the manufacturers of the attire.
She called on the Government to give more job opportunities and many other platforms that could help the youths financially and morally, adding that, when their minds were occupied, they would desist from criminalities.
