Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Kehinde Oluwadare has advised staff of Gateway International Stadium, Ilaro to look inward and explore ways of improving it for optimal performance.

Dr. Oluwadare stated this during an assessment tour of the Stadium complex at Ilaro, Yewa South Local Government Area of the State, saying facilities in the Stadium would be upgraded when people of the area make use of them, as some were beginning to wear off due to lack of use.

The Commissioner, who was in company of Special Assistant to the Governor on Youth, Hon. Lamide Lawal; a member of the House of Assembly, Hon. Adeyanju Adegoke; Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Engr. Biodun Olayiwola; Director, Administration and Supply, Mr. Tunji Kanimodo and other staff of the Ministry, urged them to make the stadium conducive, to attract more people to the Stadium.

He promised to look into the issues affecting the edifice in order to generate more revenue, calling on indigenes of the area to support government at ensuring that the Stadium was giving a face lift.

In his response, the Head of Administration of the Stadium, Mr. Emmanuel Adeleye, appreciated the team for the visit, with a promise to put more efforts in turning around the fortune of the facility.
