SPORTS, DIETING, KEYS TO LONGER LIFE- OBASANJO

Former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo has said resting, exercising and eating balanced diet were keys to healthier and longer life.

Chief Obasanjo stated this while receiving Ogun State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde, at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, saying, taking necessary precautions were needed to age gracefully.

He urged the Commissioner to initiate programmes that would further improve sports in the State, noting that, ‘’it is a very important aspect of human life which could make positive impact on the citizenry, if properly harnessed’’.

Responding, Dr. Kehinde said the visit was to appreciate Chief Obasanjo for his contribution to the society, as well as tap from his wealth of experience, as the Ministry would continue to consult him to turnaround sports, promising to key into the ‘RED’ mantra of Resting, Dieting and Exercising for healthy living.

On the Commissioner’s entourage were; A member, representing Yewa South II Constituency at the State House of Assembly, Hon. Adegoke Adeyanju and a retired Judge in the State Judiciary, Hon. Justice Oladeinde Soremi (Rtd.).
