STAKEHOLDERS CHARGED TO BE MORE INVOLVED IN EDUCATION.

Stakeholders in education and corporate organisations have been charged to partner with government by contributing meaningfully to the development of education through sponsoring of competitions amongst schools in the State, in order to have positive impacts on the psyche of students, thereby, boost their morale.

The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education Science and Technology, Mr Olu Ola Aikulola, said this at the Maiden Edition of Zonal School Quiz Competition for private and public Schools at the Ministry’s Zonal Office, Ijebu-North East Local Government, Atan.

Mr. Olu-Ola Aikulola, said inter-school debate and quiz competition, helps in improving the thinking faculty of students and being proactive in their studies.

The Permanent Secretary, represented by the Director of Secondary Education, Mr. Martins Akinsolu, stated that the aim of the competition was to increase learners’ skills and enable them to discover their potentials.

He appreciated teachers for their diligence in grooming the children, charging parents to pay more attention to their wards’ abilities, because, they are the leaders of tomorrow.

Earlier in her welcome address, the Zonal Education Officer, Ijebu-North East, Mrs. Abosede Edun, said the competition was to encourage healthy academic competition among pupils in schools for improved students’ performance in examinations.
