Newly matriculated students of Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa in Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, have been told not to take their liberty for granted by indulging in unproductive activities that could disturb the peace of the school.
The Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Alhaji Rasheed Sefiu who gave the charge at the 13th matriculation ceremony of the institution, reminded them that they have been given opportunity to add value to their lives and therefore must not engage in any act that could defeat this objective.

He enjoined the students to spend less time on social activities and be more devoted to their studies, as they would be expected to contribute their quotas to the socio-economic development of the society after graduation.
Earlier in her welcome address, the Rector of the Institute, Dr. (Mrs.) Olufunke Akinkurolere, said the institution was committed to producing graduates who would create job through vocational skills acquired in the course of studying in the school, urging the new intakes to abide by the rules and regulations, as failure to do so could attract sanctions.
Highpoint of the event was a demonstration by the entrepreneurship students of the school and a facility tour of ongoing projects by the Permanent Secretary and other dignitaries present at the occasion.
