Ogun State Deputy Governor, Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has urged all sons and daughters of Ota-Awori to support the ‘Building Our future together’agenda of Dapo Abiodun led administration, as it would bring more benefits to the town and the Aworis at large.

Engr. Salako-Oyedele stated this in her address after receiving an award of excellence, at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) and 45th year anniversary of Iganmode club, held at the Club house in Ota, Ado-Odo/Ota Local Government Area, commending the organisers of the event for the honour bestowed on her and the Head of Service.

She said that the Governor has shown love to the Aworis by choosing his Deputy from their area and also appointing an Awori as the Head of Service, which had never happened in the history of the State.

“The Governor has also shown love to us with what he has done for us in the first six to seven months of his administration. We have ongoing infrastructural projects in Ota, which are unprecedented in the State, as well as other plans to boost the industrial sector in Ota, which will bring benefits to the town and to the Aworis”, she said.

Receiving her award, Ogun State Head of Service, Tpl (Mrs.) Amope Chokor thanked the Club for appreciating her efforts in Ogun Civil Service over the years, saying that it would spur her to do more and promised to be a faithful ambassador of Aworiland.

She charged members to promote its unity and embark on developmental projects in the town to complement the present administration in moving the State forward, urging the elders in Aworiland to continue to work on the young ones who were the leaders of tomorrow and build Ota town to be an enviable place in Nigeria.

“I want Awori sons and daughters to be united and work for the progress of our town. We should not forget to work on our young ones who are the future leaders and Iganmode Club members should ensure that the developmental projects they embarked on in Otta continues, to support our amiable Governor”, she said.

In is address, the Chairman of the occasion and Mayegun of Ota, Senator Kamal Odunsi, congratulated the club on the occasion of the 45th anniversary and its giant strides, adding that the club was blessed with illustrious sons, who have distinguished themselves in various fields.

He noted that there was urgent need to do a study of unemployed youths that parade the streets, saying, employment could be facilitated through industries and local government operations, thereby addressing the increasing number of miscreants on the streets.

Also speaking, the Chairperson of the Day and Otun Iyalode of Ota, Mrs. Saidat Onimole admonished the founding fathers of the club to give the younger ones chance to grow, while lauding the club on its 45th anniversary; she also congratulated the awardees for being exemplary in their various areas of endeavour.

Earlier in his welcome address, the President of Iganmode Club, Mr. Fola Akinde pointed out that the club was founded as a socio-cultural group, seeking and promoting good fellowship, welfare and mutual understanding amongst members, within and outside Nigeria, regardless of religious and political affiliation.

Highlight of the anniversary was award presentations to founding members, past presidents and trustees, as well as recognition awards and honours to deserving personalities amongst who were; Engr. Noimot Salako-Oyedele, for her attainment as the Deputy Governor, TPL Amope  Chokor, for her appointment as the Head of Service and  posthumous award to Late Prof. Lateef Salako, as one time trustee of the Club.
