THE ALAKE AND PARAMOUNT RULER OF EGBALAND, OBA MICHAEL ADEDOTUN AREMU GBADEBO

Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo, the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, has again confirmed that Covid19 is a reality and people should stop deceiving themselves that it didn’t exist.

Oba Adedotun Gbadebo gave the warning today at the Ake Palace when receiving a private initiative on the prevention and eradication of the Covid19 Pandemic. The Group is known as the Coalition Against Covid19 (CACovid).

Speaking further, the Egba Monarch stated that Covid19 was real and had taken the lives of many Nigerian compatriots in our dear Country, adding that it could be prevented and eradicated if the World Health Organization’s directives were strictly followed.

The Alake said that the four steps to prevent the virus included, thorough washing of our hands with soap and running water for about 30 seconds, scrubbing our palms and back hands with our finger nails while the washing is going on, as well as maintaining physical distancing.
He pointed out that this would go a long way in preventing the virus.
Oba Gbadebo also advised that rinsing of hands with clean water, using face-masks, and using of an alcohol based hand sanitiser to rub our palms and back hands, would help prevent contacting the virus.

Speaking earlier, a member of the CACovid team, Mr Jide Jimi Shomolu, told the Alake that the group was a private initiative that was collaborated with the governments and other bodies, in fighting the coronavirus until it would be eradicated.

Mr J. J. Shomolu commended the Alake for agreeing to address, enlighten and educate the general public and residents of Egbaland, as well as others in Ogun, and Nigerians on how to prevent Covid19.

Mr Jide Shomolu disclosed that as a Nigeria’s foremost and highly revered Monarch, Alake’s addressing the people on how to prevent contact and spread of the virus, would definitely go a long way in creating awareness and successful prevention and spread of the virus.

The highlight of the occasion was practical demonstration of all the four steps on how to maintain good hygiene as recommended by the World Health Organisation, by Oba Adedotun Gbadebo before about 60 Palace Chiefs, staff, and visitors.

The delegation of the CACovid team included, Mr Jimi Jide Somolu, Miss Funbi Afolabi, Mr Nonso Nnamdi, among others.

The Egba High Chiefs present included the Bantun of Egbaland, Chief Kehinde Sofenwa, and the Aare Baaroyin, Chief Layi Labode, as well as 40 Egba Sectional Chiefs known as “Oloye Idi Ere.”
