The Jaguna of Gbagura and Secretary to the Agura Regency Council, Engineer Chief Abiodun Adenekan, has been described as one of the most consistent, experienced and trustworthy Gbagura leaders that were responsible for the sustainability of peace, progress and prosperity in the Gbagura Townships of Egbaland.
The Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo made the observation at a reception marking the Eightieth Birthday Anniversary of Engineer Abiodun Adenekan in Abeokuta last weekend.
Speaking through the Aare Baaroyin of Egbaland, Chief Layi Labode, the Alake observed that Chief Adenekan had been active in the affairs of Gbagura especially and Egbaland in general.
The Alake recalled that Engineer Adenekan who doubles as the Balogun of Ija-Offa and Jaguna of Gbagura had been serving as the Secretary of Gbagura Traditional Council for about 40 years, thereby ensuring good record keeping and making governance peaceful and progressive.
Concluding, the Alake urged the leadership and all indigenes of Gbagura to continue to cooperate with one another especially during this transitional period and beyond the installation of the new Agura of Gbagura.
In his message to the Octogenarian, the Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun described Engineer Abiodun Adenekan as a reliable leader whose contributions to peace and wellbeing of Gbagura and Egbaland could never be ignored.
In a Goodwill Message delivered on behalf of the Governor by the Speaker of the Ogun State House of Assembly, Right Honorable Surajudeen Adekunbi, the Jaguna of Gbagura urged to sustain his high sense of patriotism and service, not only to the Gbagura Townships, but to the entire Egbaland and Ogun State.
The 80th Birthday Anniversary Reception of Chief Abiodun Adenekan was attended by Members of Gbagura Regency Council, led by its Chairman, Chief Adio Bayewu as well as many important dignitaries from within and outside Abeokuta.
Many of the dignitaries that attended the occasion paid glowing tributes to the the celebrant.
They included the Lukosi of Egbaland, Chief Bisade Biobaku, Balogun Ika, Chief R.A.B Adeyi, Balogun Ira, Chief Nurudeen Olaleye, Chairman, OGTV Board of Directors, Engineer Yomi Ademefun, Honorable Aroyewun,the Gbegba-Aje of Egbaland, Chief Tejumade Bakre and Prince Jide Bakare of Customs.
