ALAKE LAUDS GOVERNOR DAPO ABIODUN’S ADMINISTRATION WHICH PROMISE TO ACCORD RESPECT TO TRADITIONAL INSTITUTIONS; But Wants Officers and Officials of Local Government Ministry Not To Dabble Into Minor Chiefs Affairs.

The new administration under Prince Dapo Abiodun has promised to give total respect to give total respect to traditional rulers in Ogun

At the same time, according to the Hon. Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy affairs, Hon. Moruff Afolabi Afuape that he should follow rule of law of principle and fairness in all issues concerning the traditional institutions

Speaking at the Ake Palace today during his maiden official  courtesy visit to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Hon. Moruff Afolabi Afuape disclosed to Alake and Egba Chiefs that the ministry of Local government and Chieftaincy Affairs would not interfere or interrupt un the day to day running of traditional administration in any part of Ogun State

He commended the Alake for being on top of all Chieftancy issues in Egbaland and Ogun State in general, adding that he was ready to learn and benefit from the deep knowledge and experience of the Alake in this regard

Hon. Afuape further told the Egba Monarch that the post for Commissioner for Local government and Chieftaincy affairs by Gov. Dapo Abiodun was for the entire Egba land while at the same time, he would run the ministry with fairness and equity to every section of Ogun State

Speaking also during  the courtesy visit, the new caretaker Chairman of the Abeokuta South Local Government,  Mr Ayodeji Somide told the Alake that he had also come to the Palace to formally present himself to the Paramount Ruler of Egbaland while at the same time ask for the Royal blessing to make his tenure successful

In his response, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo admonished the new commissioner to be aware that he was managing a most complex ministry and that his actions should be just,  fair, and equitable to all

 Oba Gbadebo also advised the officials to be honest and sincere in their administrative advice to the Commissioner to make his administration fair to all concerned

The Alake also expressed displeasure in interference with the day to day running of  the minor chiefs adding that the officials of the Ministry had no business whatsoever in the administration or any issue among minor chiefs according to the Ogun state Extant Chiefs Law
