The transition of the Chairman and Chief Executive of MATS Group of Companies, Chief Mutairu Ayinla Tijani, also known as MATS, has been formally announced to the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo.
The formal announcement of the foremost business man, who was also the Apase of the Egba Muslims, took place at the Ake Palace on Friday, 19, 2020 by two of his children, Mr Gbolahan Tijani, and Mrs Fausat Bankole, in company of the Asiwaju Babalaje of Egbaland, Chief Ogooluwa Bankole, a friend and father in-law, Fausat, nee Tijani.
Briefing the Alake, the eldest son of the late Apase of Egba Muslim Community, Mr Gbolahan Mutairu, stated that their father died as a result of some illness last week Monday and had since been buried last Tuesday adding that the entire MATS family felt it was very necessary traditionally, socially and religious wise to formally inform the Apex Monarch of the Egba Nation.
Mr Gbolahan Tijani added that their late Patriarch highly revered the Alake for the Egba Paramount Oba’s role in mobilizing the Egbas towards rapid growth and development of Egbaland.
Mr Gbolahan Tijani disclosed to the Alake that, the 8th day Fridau for the late business magnate father, would come up next week Tuesday.
In his response, the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, recalled that the late business tycoon and himself, attended St. Peter Claver, Ake, Abeokuta, and was a year his senior.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo added that late M. A. Tijani’s generosity, philanthropy, and kind heartedness, started from his childhood and continuously bloomed to higher levels until his demise.
The Alake admonished his children to emulate and sustain their father’s legacies as a foremost business magnate, a philanthropist and a very humble Egba Patriot through who many other compatriots rose to economic well being.
Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, prayed that the family would not disintegrate, but rather would continue to wax stronger and cohesive in business and philanthropy.
Thanking the Alake on behalf of the delegation, the Chairman and Proprietor of Mercyland Group of Schools, Chief OgoOluwa Bankole, appreciated the Alake for his sustainable and exemplary leadership role on the Egba people both home and abroad.
