As Activities Marking The 16th Coronation Anniversary Of The Alake And Paramount Ruler of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Aremu Gbadebo Begin This Week, the Chairman of the Chieftaincy Committee, Chief Akanni Akinwale has been speaking on format of the 2021 edition of the annual event.
Chief Akanni Akinwale, Baagbimo of Egbaland, told the Newsflagship, that although the event was being marked low-keyed and COVID-19 compliant, 17 Deserving Egba Sons and Daughters would be honoured with various titles.
The Baagbimo explained that the Alake and Paramount Ruler of Egbaland had directed that, the conferments be staggered over a period of three days to ensure crowd control as well as to observe seamless conduct of the the exercise.
Chief Akinwale who told the Newsflagship, that the Coronation Anniversary would kick off on Thursday, 18th of November, 2021, at 11.00am, with the installation, further disclosed that of 8 Chiefs had been billed for honours that day.
They include Chief (Mrs) Kubirat Mosunmola Akindele, as Osi Gbegbaaje; Chief (Alh) Abdulfatai Ogunyemi and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Mufuliat Ogunyemi as Seriki Sagua and Erelu Seriki Sagua respectively; Chief Yekini Somade as Bada Onimo-Ero; Chief Kolawole Ibrahim Akinyele as Seriki Agbaakin; and others.
The Chieftaincy Committee Chairman further stated that, Friday, 19th of November, which is the actual day marking the 16th Coronation Anniversary of Alake would be ushered in with the Booming of 16 Guns on Olumo Rock and Itoku Cenotaph, simultaniously at 6.00am, which would be followed with Early Morning Church service at the Ake Chapel, at 8.00am.
According to the Committee Chairman, the D-Day programme, would also feature Muslim Special Thanksgiving Prayer at the Auditorium, Ake Palace at 10.00am, adding that this would be followed with the installation of Hon. Ibrahim Isiaka, representing Ifo/Ewekoro Federal Constituency and his wife, Chief (Mrs) Ayodeji Isiaka, as Aare Asoludero and Erelu Aare Asoludero respectively, at 11.00am.

Chief Akinwale informed that the Palace activities for the day would be rounded of with a special luncheon at the Ake Summer Garden at 1.30pm.


The Baagbimo of Egbaland also disclosed that on Saturday, 20th of November, 2021, final set of Chieftaincy Conferments of titles on 7 Chiefs would come up adding that they, included Chief (Hon.) Saburi Olayiwola Olawale and his wife Chief (Mrs) Shakirat Abosede Olawale as the Seriki Bobagunwa and Erelu Seriki Bobagunwa of Egbaland respectively; Chief Nurudeen Oladunjoye Olaleye as Alawo Erin of Egbaland Chairman, Ogun State Alternative Medicine Board and some others.
